WARRINGTON CONCLAVE No119
Proclaim a new Supreme Ruler
 
Warrington Conclave No119 was delighted to welcome R Wy Bro John Charles Bicknell to its Installation Meeting held on Tuesday 3rd October 2023.
Having recently been installed as the new Supreme Ruler for the Provincial Grand Conclave of West Lancashire; R.Wy. Bro Bicknell in his first ceremony since being installed granted dispensation for the conclave to proclaim that Wy Bro. David Robert Berrington would remain in the chair as its Supreme Ruler in place of the planned installation ceremony for Supreme Ruler elect- Wy Bro Raymond Whitticome who was unable to attend due to the ill-health.
 
After opening the conclave; the Supreme Ruler asked that the brethren stand to order as a sign of respect for two brethren who since the conclaves last meeting had been called to higher service.

Thereafter the Director of Ceremonies Wy Bro Mike Hamilton P.G Swd B in a very dignified and sincere manner proclaimed that the Supreme Ruler would remain in office for a further year or until a successor was duly elected and installed in his stead.
 
Following his proclamation; the newly installed Supreme Ruler had a very pleasant task to complete as he presented cheques for a total donation of £600 to the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler on the Conclaves behalf for disbursing to the following charities:
  • St Rocco’s Hospice - £200
  • Talking Heads Newspaper - £200
  • Room at the Inn - £200
The brethren then retired to the festive board to enjoy a superb meal that would certainly enlarge the waistlines of all present of:
1st Course – Pate served with Melba Toast
2nd Course – Creamy Chicken and Bacon Pie with seasonal vegetables & chips   
3rd Course – Apple Pie with Ice Cream
During the festive board; a raffle raised another £75 which when added to the charity collection of nearly £60 will be allocated for future distribution towards worthy charities.
The festive board certainly laid the foundation for some very entertaining speeches and the prerequisite responses; ensuring that a splendid evening was had by all; especially as many of the brethren discussed the possibility of replicating the friendliness of the order alongside their partners by booking for the OSM Dinner Dance Weekend in Blackpool next March.
On the basis of the quality of the ceremony and the pure enjoyment of the festive board Warrington Conclave No.119 and the Order of Secret Monitor certainly upheld their tradition of being one of the friendliest of orders so why not join us at our next meeting on Tuesday 7th November 2023 at 6.30pm
